..:: Biography ::..
Greetings, I welcome you to my part on the web! Thanks for visiting StatikStudios. What does one write in a Bio? Plans for taking over the world perhaps? Actually, I hate to brag so I'll just write about the things I've learned, maybe some hobbies.
I wasn't always a fan of sitting looking over code. For the three years through high school I spent most of my time volunteering for the Mesa Police Department. During high school I took on a lot of computer related tasks; training for A+ certification as well as being a webmaster for Red Mountain High School's website. I was a Sysop for StarGate BBS with my little brother Cawns. Ahh, the days of Doom2, tinkering with computers and learning them from the inside out, finding out how exactly they work. After high school I moved on to ASU where I worked at a helpdesk, helping with servers and new machines as well as troubleshooting computer and network problems. While not at work I attended classes studying Computer Science Engineering (CSE major). I learned java as well as scripting, server operations, Active Directory, creating and managing user groups as well as virus recovery.
I dabbled around doing different things. I entered the police academy only to last 4 days before asthma took over. I began life again as a handyman for my jr high, teaching myself a lot about all of the trades. After getting injured on the job I moved on to my current location, Rio Salado College. I spent about 8 months with the Technology Helpdesk and then moved to the Web Development team for another 5. Now, after almost a year of part time, I've managed to get back to the Technology Helpdesk as a full time analyst. I don't just answer phones, I also answer loads of emails, manage user accounts, troubleshoot email, computer bugs, spyware, adware, DNS problems as well as writing up new training documentation for different systems and testing new systems. The team I work with supports not only staff but also faculty members as well as students, ranging from all different types of computer systems from Windows 95 to Mac OSX. If I'm not typing up documentation I'm reading up on new events, software and hardware in the technology field.
Below are just a few different areas in website design that I have been trained in:
- CSS
- SSI
- JavaScript
- Perl
- Mouse Over Images
- Interactive Menus
- Dreamweaver MX and 8
- Fireworks MX and 8
- Flash MX and 8
- PhotoshopCS
- Adobe Image Ready
I also was a participant and 1st place winner in the 2006 AVNet Tech Games competition in the category of e-commerce web site design in which my team and I designed a complete website for a company in 3 weeks that contained many Flash elements.
I enjoy spending time sitting here online, playing with graphics, some animation, and playing with new designs for sites. I also spend a good deal of time playing Poker. When I'm not here I enjoy anything outside, shooting, fishing, mountain biking and of course storm chasing. I enjoy chasing even more year by year and have even become a certified spotter for the National Weather Service here in Phoenix.
Feel free to wander around my place here, if you have a suggestion, I invite you to share it with me. I think its better to have my hands dirty from working with actual machines rather than just reading about stuff in books. I have learned much over the years that I am able to bring to the table with me, not only in computer knowledge but also in business practices and professionalism. I strongly believe in customer service... What may mean extra work will pay off in the end. With the knowledge I have, I can guarantee a good return on your investment in me.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I am always willing to offer advice. No question is a dumb question.
